Afrique : Une nouvelle ère de coopération entre le Ghana et le Burkina Faso

Le président récemment élu du Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, a reçu en audience, le mardi 7 janvier 2025 dans l’après-midi, le président du Faso et chef de l’État, le capitaine Ibrahim Traoré, selon la direction de la communication de la présidence du Faso.
Au cours de cette rencontre, les deux dirigeants ont exprimé leur volonté de renforcer la coopération bilatérale et d’ouvrir de nouvelles perspectives pour le développement de leurs pays. Ils ont discuté de questions essentielles touchant les secteurs stratégiques susceptibles de stimuler les économies des deux nations.
Cet entretien a été l’occasion pour le président ghanéen de saluer la participation du capitaine Ibrahim Traoré à sa cérémonie d’investiture.
Le président Mahama a également exprimé sa solidarité avec le chef de l’État burkinabè, en particulier à propos des attaques terroristes qui secouent le pays. Il a assuré qu’il travaillerait aux côtés du capitaine Traoré pour rétablir la paix au Burkina Faso, soulignant que «sans la paix, il ne peut y avoir de développement».
Au-delà des liens historiques et commerciaux qui unissent les peuples burkinabè et ghanéens, le nouveau président du Ghana a souligné le début d’une nouvelle ère de coopération entre les deux pays.
Dans le cadre de leur coopération bilatérale, le Burkina Faso et le Ghana ont déjà conclu plusieurs accords, dont un relatif à l’interconnexion ferroviaire, ainsi que des mémorandums d’entente dans les domaines de la sécurité, du sport, des loisirs et de l’éducation.
Dans cette dynamique, John Dramani Mahama a également annoncé son intention de se rendre prochainement à Ouagadougou pour une visite d’État.
