The Haitian Embassy situated in Cotonou (Benin) informed people that are members of the Haitian Society existing in Benin and in other places around Africa, that the Consulate of Haiti in Benin was concluding its consular services.

Keep in mind that in July 2016 the Government declared the closure of the only Delegation of Haiti on the African continent just after a few years of presence while not articulating at that time frame the ultimate aspect nor the formal basis.

“It is evident that this kind of call will certainly have no effect on the remarkable rapport of acquaintance, and collaboration which usually exist between Haiti and Benin, two sister countries bonded by long lasting traditional and cultural connections.

While hanging around to get latest procedures, Haitian people residing in Benin and in different places on the African region will definitely prefer to address to the Consulate General of Haiti in Paris for their consular records and documents requests”.
